Resources for Adult Creators

Hammer and Dildo!

Hello my lovelies,

welcome to Creator Corner. Today, I'm listing a few resources that I personally find useful as a creator of adult content.

Ladylibido's List of 18+ Storefronts and Subscriptions

As online spaces where we are allowed to sell adult works is dwindling, Ladylibido put together a handy list of shop and subscription platforms as well as commission sites and tip jars that permit 18+ content. The list is kept up to date, crossing out all the services that banned adult content in 2024 and recently adding Artisans Co-Op, a new "Etsy" that is owned by a cooperative.

The post is on pillowfort.social, a platform that emerged after the Tumblr purge as an adult friendly alternative.

Sophie Ladder's List of 18+ Video Platforms

Sophie Ladder has created an extremely extensive and organised list of cam/video focused services, showing which kind of content is permitted on which sites. The list also includes fan sites like JustForFans, who advertised themselves as an alternative to creators when Gumroad banned all "sexually-oriented content" literally over night.

Pandora Blake's Guide to Open Source Self-Hosted Age Verification

If you have to comply with age verification laws such as the Online Safety Act in the UK or the Jugendschutzgesetz in Germany, Pandora Blake explains how to set up a self-hosted open source software for that purpose. Like Pandora, I'm wary of third party services. She introduces GO.cam, an open source age verification software that is certified by the UK Age Check Certification Scheme and a similar German Kommission für Jugendmedienschutz. She actually went through the trouble of checking the code with experts. Kudos to you, Pandora! I wouldn't have the skills to do that. GO.cam can be self-hosted or used as a service at 0.03 EUR per verification, with no setup or monthly fees.

If this was useful to you, donate to Pandora to chip in towards the cost of checking the code and research compliance. Read her full article here.

Galleries of Genital Body Diversity

A valuable resource for those of us who draw or describe genitalia. It's a Tumblr post with a series of links in the reblogs that lead to images of diverse breasts, vulvas, and penises including trans genitalia.

List of Adult-Friendly Mastodon / Fediverse Servers

If you have read my thoughts on Mastodon, you know that I consider Mastodon and the Fediverse our best chance at a social media experience that won't shadow-ban, hide, or kick us out altogether. There is a small list of 18+ Mastodon servers in my article "Mastodon for creators" but I put together this more extensive list for adult friendly servers that welcome kink and sex workers.

Please note that even 18+ kink friendly servers will ask their members to use content warnings for adult content because failing to do so will cause other servers to block them. BUT using a content warning will not shadow-ban you or hide the post from others like on other platforms.

Show server list

gayfr.social is an 18+ server for French-speaking gay men.

girlcock.club is, as the name suggests, a server for trans folk. It's run by trans women and hosts several kinksters and pornographers.

kinkycats.org is an adult content oriented server with about 99% of posts being adult content. Nudity is accepted without content warning as long as it doesn't display sexual acts or uncovered genitals. Many users moved from kinky.business to kinkycats.org after it shut down. The server is sex positive, sex worker friendly and adult content friendly.

kinkyelephant.com is a community for fetish models, photographers, producers and fans. Posting samples and links to your commercial work is allowed and encouraged! At the moment, only new accounts from content creators are accepted.

kinkpic.site is an 18+ Pixelfed server for the kink and fetish community. Pixelfed is like Instagram, only you can interact with people using Mastodon and vice versa as if you could see and comment tweets from your Instagram account.

noods.fun is a small general purpose Mastodon server run by a trans sex worker with the majority of accounts being 18+ and queer.

spookygirl.boo is a private 18+ Iceshrimp server for sex workers. You need an invitation to join. Iceshrimp is like Facebook, only you can interact with Iceshrimp users via Mastodon and vice versa as if you could read and comment on Facebook posts from Twitter.

thicc.horse is a small server to be horny on main, especially if you're a furry but you don't have to be to join. Sex workers are welcome but thicc.horse is hosted in the US.

woof.group is an 18+ Mastodon server for LGBTQ+ leather people. Sign-up is open but accounts need to be approved by the mod team and should have some connection to queer leather. Pornography and sex work belong to the heart of queer culture, woof.group states, and they explicitly support it in their response to OSA. They also offer a list of kink servers recs beyond leather. Hosted in the US.

Furthermore

biplus.social is a German server for the bi+ community run by a bi man. Kink and sex work under the bi+ umbrella are welcome but the server's rule against promotion doesn't make it an ideal fit for creators because even if promotion isn't necessarily our main activity, whether or not the promotion is too much could always become a point of contention.

glitterkitten.co.uk is sex worker friendly with explicit rules against harassing sex workers but it's a very small server that doesn't take on new users at the moment.

kinky.business has sadly closed.

rubber.social is a kink, gear, and BDSM-friendly Mastodon server. Approval is required for sign-up for anti-spam purposes. Has fetish creators and gear makers but can't say for certain about escorts and sex workers. Promotion of goods and services is allowed but requires the use of a #promo hashtag.
